The days are sliding into each other now…with each passing week of the current social distancing situation, it’s getting harder to remember what day it actually is. Is there really any need to know whether it’s Tuesday or Saturday, when you’re going to be doing the same thing anyway…and seeing only the same people you’ve seen every day for the past few weeks?
I’m still working full time, but since I’m doing it from home now, there’s a different feel to the day. I don’t have to select clothes to wear…oh, to be sure, I’m actually getting dressed each day! None of that working in pyjamas stuff for me! *ahem* At least not after the first couple of weeks. I just wasn’t feeling productive and I never really got to “leave work” because I’d never really “arrived” at work.
So now I get up each morning, do my regular workout – which consists of walking the dog and then doing some targeted exercises (arms, legs, abs, depending on the day.) Then I have an hour or so before it’s time to start my job. So I’ve been working on a few different projects…trying to set up a couple of online ventures to keep me occupied in retirement.
And of course, I’ve still got my podcast…that’s definitely going strong! I’ve had to put my solo episodes on hold for awhile, because I had so many interviews waiting to air! Putting the solo shows on hold has left me feeling somewhat detached from the podcast, however, so I’m going to have to figure out a way to stay involved.
With such a full plate, it’s hard to remember what day it is…because each day looks the same as the previous one.
One of the activities that’s taking up some of my time is figuring out who I want to work with…
What sort of traits do these people have?
What do they enjoy?
Where do they hang out?
What can I do to serve them?
I’m slowly getting the hang of it…catching on to how to tap into my inner self and figure out what my desires really are. It’s easy to get caught up in the superficial part of life…just looking at the “easy wins” to get by. But if you take the time to really think about what you want out of life…
THAT’s where the GOLD comes from!
